BBC Children in Need CarFest South: Volunteers Needed!

Please see below from BBC Children in Need:



Thank you for expressing an interest in volunteering at this year’s CarFest South: 22nd-24th August. We appreciate Round Table and Ladies Circle continued support and as always we look forward to working with you. On this occasion we are looking for volunteers.  It’s set to be an absolutely amazing event and we are always so grateful for people willing to give up their time!  If you’d like to refresh your memory about what’s in store please click here

Volunteer Roles Description

We are looking for volunteers to assist us with running our BBC Children in Need fundraising and outreach activities on site. The roles below are interchangeable as we would like to keep your experience of working with us fresh and exciting.

Working in the shop will require:

  • Assisting customers select the correct sizing of clothing.
  • Assisting with keeping the appearance of the shop tidy and presentable.
  • Ensuring that an effective queuing system is maintained during busy periods with guidance from the Shop Manager.
  • Re-stocking where appropriate with guidance from the Shop Manager.
  • Providing excellent customer service to maximise sales.
  • Assisting the public to fill in gift aid forms should they make a donation to BBC Children in Need whilst in the shop and actively encouraging this.
  • The ability to work between 8-10 hours each day with breaks and lunch.
  • The ability to be on your feet for most of the day.

Selling raffle tickets:

  • You will roam around the festival actively encouraging the public to take part in the raffle.
  • You will take the monies and give out the raffle tickets.
  • Having been briefed by a member of BBC Children in Need staff – fully understand the prizes that are to be won.
  • The ability to work between 8-10 each day with breaks and lunch.
  • The ability to be on your feet for most of the day.

Being part of the Pudsey appearance team:

  • Assisting with costume changes and cleaning process.
  • Driving a golf buggy (with prior practise and briefing).
  • Being the bear (some additional paperwork to be filled out on the day).
  • Being the bear’s friendly helper – guiding him around site and interacting with the general public (briefing given).

If you are still keen to assist us with the operation there’s a simple and easy process to follow.
