Welcome back! Fishguard Ladies Circle
On Saturday 28th March the newly reformed Fishguard Ladies Circle was officially welcomed back into the Ladies Circle Family by the organisation’s National President, Claire Wevell.
Becky Annis was given the honour of being chairman for the coming year with Alli Thomas as her vice.
The official re-charter of Fishguard took place at Wolfscastle Country Hotel along with a celebration of 50 years of Circle in the local area. We were joined by members and guests from around Great Britain including our local circle members from Haverfordwest, Tenby and Cardigan.
During the evening we were joined by our male counterparts, Fishguard Round Table, at Peppers in Fishguard for some informal celebrations and fantastic food.
Fishguard Ladies Circle was originally set up in 1965 but unfortunately disbanded in 2003. In July of last year three of us got together and decided we would like to see Ladies Circle back in Fishguard and started the arduous task of recruiting members. With a lot of help from our local Tangent (the ex-Ladies Circle members) and the area team we now have 7 official members and 4 or 5 potentials and are well on the way to having a really strong group of fantastic girls.
Ladies Circle is open to ladies aged 18-45 from all walks of life and the aim is to make new friends, have fun and fundraise. We meet twice a month, once at the Glendower Hotel on the last Wednesday of the month at 7:30pm and once for a social activity/get together.
