Cheque presented to Shelly Farm Community Centre

Some of the Shirley girls with Salim Mughal and Councillor Ken Hawkins

Just before Christmas Shirley Ladies Circle handed over a cheque for £500 to Salim Mughal the treasurer of Shelly Farm Community Centre.

Jacqui, our chair had read about their plight to keep the community centre open.

It was in a state of disrepair and threatened with closure.

However the local people and volunteers are pulling together and are making improvements to the centre, making it once again a vibrant community space.

There are lots of activities that take place at the centre and there are two halls for hire.

Further help is also required. If interested contact www.shellyfarmcommunitycentre.com
