I’ve thought about doing a triathlon for a few years as I’ve enjoyed the separate elements. With a little encouragement from Emily I enrolled with eight week to train. Supporting and raising money for the Samarathon really motivated me to train often having one day a week off. As Jens charity for the year is the Nottingham hospice due to her friend’s mum Kate, who has secondary breast cancer, going regularly to the unit and my Dad receiving hospice care it was a privilege to support them.
Although the event was postponed until October I decided to go the distance on my own. I was blown away by the support from Long Eaton Ladies circle and Beeston Round table during the 400m swim, 16km bike and 5km run. I’ve been stunned by the generosity, support, especially to those who cheered/run along side me at 08:30 on Sunday, and by friends, family, Ladies’ circle and Beeston round table after we raised £500.
We’ve also got other charity events such as firewalk, quiz night and a 24-hour karaoke planned.
Come and see what Circle is all about.
