What a year it’s been, so many adventures and new friends made, the Tiara is certainly a great conversation opener! Originally donated by Jane Smith of Long Eaton Ladies Circle in 2012, the Tiara was custom designed after Jane won the Anthony Nolan Award and gifted it to National President at the time Marj Aird. It was then auctioned to the highest bidder and finally donated back to Marj to pass onto the Circler who continues to “make the difference” which was her presidential year slogan. Since then, many Circlers have been awarded it including national Secretary Ruth and last year I was shocked, honoured and privileged to be presented with it.
We’ve made many appearances online during COVID and then in person at the 85th Charter, Circle nights, the strangest outing with the Tiara was definitely axe throwing and most recently a trip to Edinburgh to welcome Ladies Circle Skelleftea 57. It was with great delight that I was then able to present it to Troon Ladies Circle Founding Chair Leanne, she’s always there to extend the hand of friendship, offer support and help when required and had it not been for Leanne reaching out to Marj, Troon would not have rechartered, I would not have found Circle and made lasting friendship which now extend across the globe.
Keep up to date with the adventures of the Tiara on the Facebook page.
Yours in Friendship, Bernadette Troon 829.
Come and see what Circle is all about.
